Idea 'Easy Share' Plans Now Available for Prepaid Subscribers

Idea Cellular on Tuesday announced that the company is now launching its 'Easy Share' plans for prepaid subscribers as well. Last year, it had launched postpaid plans in some markets.

"This unique product is the first such initiative for prepaid users in India, and caters to the need of both individual customers with multiple devices, as well as members of a family using multiple connections," said company.

The Idea 'Easy Share' prepaid plans start from Rs. 158 and goes up to Rs. 958. The all-in-one plans clubs benefits like Internet, local and national voice minutes and SMS for prepaid Idea subscribers.

Users of Idea's Easy Share plan can transfer Internet data, voice minutes and SMS to their friends and family members who are also Idea subscribers, through a simple process of USSD or by logging to the Idea website.

Talking about this new initiative, Sashi Shankar, Chief Marketing Officer, Idea Cellular said, "Convergence' is the new trend in technology and devices and we feel that it should also reflect in our tariff and billing planning to offer seamless user experience. For the postpaid subscriber, Easy Share plan is already available since last one year and we are now happy to introduce sharing plan for our prepaid subscribers. The plan not only helps users to share their voice and data benefits but also provides great value for money."

On Monday, Idea and Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd (ABNL) applied for the payments bank licence with the Reserve Bank of India.

"Aditya Birla Nuvo on February 02, 2015, submitted an application to the Reserve Bank of India for obtaining licence for setting-up a payments bank," the company said in a BSE filing.

As per the proposed structure, ABNL will be the promoter of payment bank holding 51 percent equity capital. Idea Cellular Ltd, an Aditya Birla Group company where ABNL is largest promoter shareholder, will be hold the balance 49 percent.
