Sony India on Monday launched a new in-car audio system that enables smart driving and helps to navigate, communicate and play music from your phone with intelligent voice control or touch panel control. Compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the XAV-AX100 audio system is priced at Rs. 26,990, and the Black colour variant will be available via car accessories shops and car showrooms.

Notably, Sony says navigation is not enabled for CarPlay in India yet. The company says the XAV-AX100's high power sound combined with its Extra Bass feature can "transform any vehicle into an elaborate sound system." It sports a 4x55W Dynamic Reality Amp 2 with 3 pre-out connectivity to allow for expandability via external amplifiers and speakers. It also sports a 10-band equaliser and a Dynamic Stage Organiser (DSO) for a surround sound experience.

Sony says the rotation volume control and voice command features that are supported on the XAV-AX100 in-car audio system will help make driving safer and more comfortable.

Android Auto extends the Android platform into the car and with a simple and intuitive interface and new voice actions, it minimises distraction so people can stay focused on the road.

Apple CarPlay allows one-to-use smartphone in a safe and smart way while staying focused on the road, letting one access Apple Music, make phone calls and send messages all through the touchscreen or vocally with Apple Siri.

The Sony XAV-AX100 in-car audio system comes with rear USB and rear camera input for easy parking, apart from Bluetooth connectivity and an external mic.
