  • The new 40-inch Mi TV 4A model is priced at CNY 1,699 (about Rs. 17,500)
  • Users can control the TV with the remote control
  • It has 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM, and 8GB internal storage

Xiaomi has added another model to its Mi TV 4A series of smart TVs in its home market, complete with voice control, enhanced audio, and a thin design. The new Mi TV 4A model sports a 40-inch full-HD (1920x1080 pixel) panel and is positioned between the 32-inch and 50-inch models of the series. The Mi TV 4A series - as well as the 4C - offer television models with thin bezels and smart TV features at affordable prices compared to Xiaomi's flagship Mi TV 4 range, which was launched in India just 2 weeks ago.

The new Xiaomi Mi TV 4A 40-inch model has direct type backlight, 178-degree, refresh rate of 60Hz, 5000:1 static contrast ratio, and 8ms dynamic response. Connectivity suite of the new TV consists of Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 + LE, USB (2), HDMI (2), AV (1), analogue signal DTMB (1), and Ethernet. It has two 8W speakers with Dolby and DTS enhancements.

Coming to the key features, the new Mi TV 4A 40-inch model supports voice control, so buyers can use the remote with built-in mic to give commands such as "shut down after 10 minutes," or "fast forward to 54 minutes and 21 seconds" to control certain functions without pressing a single button. It is based on the Android-Based Patchwall UI that the company uses in its other TVs.

As for the specifications, the new Mi TV 4A model packs the 64-bit 1.5GHz Amlogic L962-H8X processor and 750MHz Mali 450 GPU with 1GB RAM, and comes with 8GB of internal storage. In China, the new model is priced at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,500).

A new Mi TV 4A model is also expected to launch in India on Wednesday as Xiaomi has been teasing the launch of a low-cost TV in the country. However, it is not clear whether it will be the new 40-inch model that the company brings to the market or the smaller 32-inch variant of the same series. A separate model, the 43-inch Mi TV 4C, was also spotted last week on the official Xiaomi India website with Rs. 27,999 price tag
