  • iMCO Watch is now available on Amazon India at Rs. 13,990
  • It's available in two colour variants – Mineral Silver and Carbon Black
  • It is powered by Amazon Alexa

First unveiled in April last year, iMCO launched the Amazon Alexa-powered CoWatch globally in September. Since, the company has rebranded the smartwatch to the iMCO Watch. On Friday, the company announced its availability in India. Priced at Rs. 13,900, the iMCO Watch is available to buy from e-commerce site Yerha.com in two colour variants - Mineral Silver and Carbon Black.

The iMCO Watch smartwatch brings mostly all of Amazon Alexa's voice-based assistant functionality, which includes asking for the local weather, controlling your smart home, and looking up information like news or ordering online. iMCO Watch users will be able to activate Alexa by pressing down the crown button or by tapping the Alexa icon on the display. Unfortunately, Alexa will not listen if you yell out "Amazon" or "Alexa" as you would with the Echo.

While Amazon's Alexa is the main USP of the iMCO Watch - as it is the "world's first Alexa smartwatch - it comes with some decent features such as a 400x400 pixel AMOLED display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of inbuilt storage. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11b./g/n and Bluetooth v4.1. It sports a heart rate sensor.

The company is also touting dust and water resistance, apart from the presence of an accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer. The smartwatch runs on an Android-based OS called Cronologics, which is iMCO's own product, developed by former Google and Android developers. The company says the smartwatch can provide a battery life up to 32 hours in always-on mode, and up to two days with the display turned off.

While CoWatch's main USP is the software which integrates Alexa, iMCO has also given thought to the design. The smartwatch is made entirely of stainless steel barring the display and ceramic ring. A single button is present on the side that is used to turn the display on or off.

The company believes its user interface is fast and responsive, providing quick access to all your apps and notifications. The smartwatch is compatible with both Android (v5.0 and above) and iOS (v9.0 and above). However, with Cronologics OS, all the computing happens either on the watch itself or in the cloud, which means the smartwatch is not reliant on a smartphone to work.
