Following the first 'special preview' sale last week, the company's inaugural sale on its own Mi.com portal, Xiaomi is once again making its Mi Band fitness tracking band available to purchase in its second flash sale on Tuesday starting 2pm IST.

At the time of writing, the Chinese manufacturer had not revealed how many Xiaomi Mi Band units will be up for grabs on Tuesday. Registrations for the sale ended at 2pm IST on Monday, and once again, the fitness tracking band will be available to purchase via the company's own India portal.

Unlike the previous sale however, which saw 1,000 units available at Re. 1, the Xiaomi Mi Band will be available at its full Rs. 999 price for Tuesday's sale. The Mi Band is available in range of colour variants including Blue, Pink, Brown, Black, Purple and Grey.

We recently reviewed Xiaomi's first fitness tracking band, and found it to be a good basic activity and sleep tracker. We wouldn't recommend it for those who can get by with a smartphone's built-in sensors, as any of the numerous available fitness tracking apps provide the same functionality. However, if you don't carry your phone with you all the time, then the Mi Band is a useful, affordable gadget that you'd probably want to buy. Xiaomi's pricing is excellent as usual - it's an inexpensive purchase even if you just want to see what the wearables fuss is all about.

The fitness tracking band was first unveiled in July last year, and went on sale in August in China. Flaunting an aluminium surface with a micro laser perforation and no display screen, the Xiaomi Mi Band is water resistant (IP67) and has a standby life of 30 days. Once paired with the smartphone, the Mi Band can be used to unlock the user's smartphone without typing any password or patterns. It was launched in India alongside the Xiaomi Mi 4i at the end of April.
