Every week, we take a look at what gadgets and apps are driving the people who drive the technology industry in India, to get a glimpse of how these people work, and what they're dreaming about.

This week, we spoke to Prashant Malik, the co-founder and CTO of e-commerce company LimeRoad, and talked about the devices and apps he can't do without.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
I do most of my work on a Dell laptop, and my phone handles everything else; I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S4. I don't use a tablet much - I own an iPad, but I never used it much, my kids use it for games mostly. I used to be an iPhone user, until the iPhone 4 - but by then Android had also become stable, and I switched to a Samsung. I've never gone back, because it is open, and easy to customise.

I can't imagine using a desktop - my job requires me to carry my laptop around and make presentations, we have talks, and it's just not possible to be tied down to a desk.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Theapps I use the most are Facebook and Twitter. I tried Flipboard instead ofFacebook, but I prefer the official Facebook app. I also have LimeRoad open routinely - but it's not just for testing I've been an active user for a while now. The next most used app is the Cricbuzz app.

What is one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
My camera. I have a couple of cameras, from Sony, Canon and Fuji, and when I'm traveling somewhere I want to keep a camera with me. I mostly take a point and click with me when I travel, because the DSLR isn't convenient for long travel, but if I'm going somewhere close by then I take the DSLR is possible.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Something like Google Glass comes close. We shouldn't have to think about technology, or remember to pick a device up and put it in your bag. Google Glass puts all the information right in front of your face, it gives you instant access to everything you need right when you need it. I want technology to be seamless and simple.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Technology has obviously changed a lot of things, but I think the most important development for many reasons is the smart phone. I'm always connected, and always up to date. I have all the information I need, all the time. The phone drives my day and it has made me more efficient, and my work real-time.
