Search engine DuckDuckGo on Tuesday announced revamped versions of its browser extension and mobile app. The service now come with features such as inbuilt tracker network blocking, better encryption, and private search. The updated app and extension are available across Firefox, Safari, Chrome, iOS, and Android.

Tracker network blocking
As we mentioned, the revamped version of DuckDuckGo browser incorporates a feature that blocks hidden tracker networks on sites like Google and Facebook, as claimed by DuckDuckGo. The browser's Privacy Protection will block all the trackers as well as release regular information about the advertising networks that are indulging in these practices.

Improved encryption
DuckDuckGo's latest update has also added support for websites offering encrypted versions. If the browser detects a website with an encrypted version, it will automatically send it to the user irrespective of the website's decision.

Private Search
The new browser extension and mobile app version for DuckDuckGo now supports private search that claims to keep no record of what users search through its platform. Private Search has been available on DuckDuckGo's search box and it will be expanded to support the extension and app. Ratings will also be given to websites depending on the privacy that they offer.

DuckDuckGo has also partnered with Terms of Service Didn't Read (TOSDR) to offer ratings and scores of Privacy Policies and Terms of Service on websites.

"Our goal is to expand this privacy protection over time by adding even more privacy features into this single package. While not all privacy protection can be as seamless, the essentials available today and those that we will be adding will go a long way to protecting your privacy online, without compromising your Internet experience," said DuckDuckGo in a blog post.
