After launching several standalone apps like Paper, Slingshot, Messenger, and Mentions, Facebook is now rumoured to be working on a new app codenamed 'Moments'.

Similar to Path, the Moments app by Facebook would enable users to share their content on Facebook with select friends and family members or any other small groups in a much simpler manner. The app is said to be made for those Facebook users who are not comfortable with sharing certain content with all their friends on the portal, keeping in mind the ever-changing privacy settings of the website.

Sources close to the matter explained to Techcrunch that the Facebook Moments app currently features a grid-like design including different tabs for different groups of people. Users can tap on the desired tab to share content only with those users. The different subsets of the user's total Facebook friends might be easier to access than the small privacy selector icon on the News Feed composer.

It is worth noting that in 2011, Facebook's Friends List was revamped and users could create different tabs for office, family, friends and others on the social website. The Facebook Moments might auto-populate itself with such groups made by the users on their Facebook accounts.

However, the website also adds that the social networking giant might change the name, include some other features or overhaul the Moments app before officially announcing it for the users. Facebook is yet to officially reveal the app. When contacted by Techcrunch, Facebook gave its usual reply - "We do not comment on rumours or speculation."

On Tuesday, Facebook updated the app settings page on its Web interface, bringing a new design and improved controls for the apps.

Now Facebook users on the Web can visit Settings>Apps to find out all the apps that they have connected to their Facebook login. The new layout gives the list of connected apps upfront, and users can edit permissions or remove the apps individually.
