Facebook is reported to have launched a new feature for iPhone users that lets them enhance the images they are uploading with greater ease.

The new feature introduced by Facebook shows the unedited image uploaded on the website along with a slider at the bottom. Users can scroll the slide to bring the enhancement effect up or down. Facebook's new image auto-enhancing feature is rolling out first to the iOS app, and will reach Android later, as per Techcrunch. The update is yet to be seen on Facebook's iOS app listing. Also, the users can manually disable the Facebook's auto-enhancing feature.

Previously, on uploading an image on Facebook via smartphones, users were shown the unedited image. They could hit a dedicated button to auto-correct lighting, or add filters, a process that took much time.

The new auto-enhancement feature introduced by Facebook resembles the Google+ Auto Awesome feature, which was introduced in February this year. The Auto Awesome feature recognises the image and adds the special effect automatically.

Twitter earlier this month added a number of Instagram-style adjustable photo filters to its Android and iOS apps. A total of eight filters are available on the Twitter apps, namely Radiant, Positive, Warm, Breeze, Glow, Golden, Fame and Stark, all of which can be adjusted separately.

Apart from ensuring users won't leave the app for their basic photo editing needs, the inclusion of new photo filters in the Android and iOS apps is being hoped to help recover some lost user engagement reported by Twitter in October this year.
