Gurgaon-based hyperlocal delivery startup Grofers on Monday said it is temporarily reassessing its operations in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Kochi, Ludhiana, Mysore, Nashik, Rajkot, and Visakhapatnam due to lack of adoption for its service in the nine cities.

"We are refocusing our business in select key markets that continue to show high growth." a Grofers spokesperson said an emailed statement, adding that a few of these cities were a part of its experimentation to ascertain whether these markets respond positively to Grofers' offering of 90 minute home delivery through an app.

Grofers hasn't ruled out a return to these cities yet, and said that the closing down of its services in these cities was temporary.

According to the FAQs, Grofers currently operates in Agra, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, NCR, Nagpur, Pune, Surat, and Vadodara.

Grofers had closed a $120 million (Rs. 800 crores) round of funding in November 2015 in a funding round led by Japan's SoftBank Corp.

Its acquisitions in 2015 include grocery delivery platform MyGreenBox, food delivery app SpoonJoy, and B2B logistics service provider Townrush.
