Nokia, Microsoft to pump $24 million in university app development program
In the bid to improve the app scenario for Windows Phone, Nokia and Microsoft have pledged $24 million to a newly established mobile app development program at Aalto University in Finland. What is more interesting that this AppCampus program will not only work for the promotion of Windows Phone platform as well as Symbian and Series 40 platforms too.

Set to start in May this year, the program participants will get coaching, financial backing as well as other support to work on their applications. However there is a catch, participants will have to maintain their Windows Phone applications exclusively for the Windows Phone platform for at least six months.

Windows Phone MarketPlace, which recently crossed the 70,000 apps milestone, is a long way from its competitors and is in dire need of more apps.
