Reliance Jio 4G Phones Now Available for Same Day Delivery via Grofers

Hyperlocal delivery service Grofers announced on Friday that it will enable doorstep deliveries of Reliance Jio's 4G smartphone range, which can be ordered through its apps.

Reliance Retail had recently announced the prices of its three Lyf-branded smartphones - the Lyf Earth 1, Lyf Water 1 and Lyf Water 2 - ranging from Rs. 14,690 to Rs. 23,990.

The Lyf Water 2 priced at Rs. 14,690, is the company's entry-level 4G offering, sports a 5-inch 720x1280 pixels screen resolution screen, 16 GB of internal storage, a 2400mAh battery. The phone is fitted with a 1.5GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Lyf Water 1, priced at Rs. 14,999 has a sharper 5-inch (1080x1920 pixel resolution) display, and a 2600mAh battery. Both smartphones are dual-SIM, and support 4G LTE bands and connectivity options like GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB and memory expansion slots that accept 32GB card capacities. The Lyf Water 1 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The Lyf Water 2, on the other hand, runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.

The Lyf Earth 1, priced at Rs. 23,990, has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) Amoled display, has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, with headroom for an additional 32GB of storage, via microSD card. The Earth 1 smartphone sports dual rear cameras, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Grofers will provide doorstep delivery in 13 cities from a base of 150 stores in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune. The feature went live on its apps for iOS and Android at 3:30pm IST on Friday.

Reliance Jio's 4G services that are expected to be launched by early February, according to recent news reports.
