Twitter in the past has been rumoured to be exploring ways to build an integrated e-commerce platform to sell products via the micro-blogging service.

Now some Twitter for Android users are reporting the presence of a new feature inside the settings menu of the app, called 'Payment & shipping'. While the feature was de-activated at the moment and could not be opened, it leads to speculation that Twitter will allow users to check for payment and shipping details of the products they ordered directly from the 140-character micro-blogging platform.

The new unannounced setting in Twitter's Android app was reported by several Twitter users (as seen in the Twitter search and picked up by the Next Web).

Twitter is famous for testing unannounced features with limited number of users ahead of any official announcement. As of now, there is no word from the social giant of the alleged "payment and shipping" option in the settings.

Earlier in February, some purported screenshots posted on e-commerce site Fancy.com (which were later pulled down) showed certain tweets tagged as "Twitter Commerce" and, when expanded, showed a green "Buy with Fancy" button.

Last month, Twitter, after testing the new tweet embed feature for Android and iOS, rolled-out  the feature to its Web or desktop-interface, automatically embedding linked tweets.

The micro-blogging service also rolled-out an update for its Android app, which brought the much-touted dedicated WhatsApp share button.

Notably, Twitter's quarterly earnings report showed surprisingly strong quarterly revenue and user growth, despite an increase in its quarterly loss.
