A day after Delhi government rejected application for licence by Uber, a section of drivers of the US-based taxi aggregator met transport minister Gopal Rai and raised their issues before him.

On Wednesday, the AAP government rejected fresh applications for licence by US-based taxi booking firm Uber and two other such service providers - Ola and TaxiForSure.

Top Delhi government officials said the applications of the three taxi aggregators were rejected for not filing undertakings stating they were complying with a ban imposed on them. The three operators had filed the applications under the modified Radio Taxi Scheme introduced five months ago.

"Drivers of Uber [on Thursday] met the transport minister and demanded that the ban imposed on it be lifted. They also raised other demands before the minister," an official said.
