A renowned journalist, Catherine Ravenscroft (Blanchett) who is known to expose the wrongdoings of people is flabbergasted when she finds out that she is the main character of a novel which is based on her life, and is revealing the darkest secrets of her past.

While trying to find out the writer, her life and relationships with her husband Robert (Sacha Baron Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee) go on a toss. This series is based on a novel of the same name by Renee Knight.
