At BlizzCon 2017, Blizzard announced that Heroes of the Storm, the company's multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) gets Hanzo, a character from its popular shooter, Overwatch. Hanzo is a ranged character that uses a bow. His ultimate ability summons a dragon that damages every foe in its path.
Hanzo isn’t the first character from Overwatch to join Heroes of the Storm. He joins Genji, Junkrat, Ana, D.Va, Lucio, Zarya, and Tracer. It seems that it won’t be long before Overwatch’s entire roster joins Heroes of the Storm. Another addition to Heroes of the Storm is World of Warcraft’s Alexstrasza - a dragon-human character she transforms into a dragon and heals her allies.
Both characters were shown off in a stunning cinematic that debuted at BlizzCon 2017 that had them putted against each other with Alexstrasza taking her dragon form and laying waste to the surrounding area before Hanzo used his ultimate ability. The duo then hinted at 'greater challenges ahead' for those playing Heroes of the Storm.
The additions of Hanzo and Alexstrasza were leaked prior to BlizzCon 2017 thanks to Blizzard’s Chinese Heroes of the Storm website spotted by members of gaming forum ResetEra.
