Games The Shop Opens Online Store With Titles and Consoles on Sale

Games The Shop, a popular retail chain for gaming in India, launched its online store last week in India. The company says gamers will be able to pre-order and purchase game titles on its online store, while choosing from a wide range of options.

The gamers would be able to choose titles based on platform, Pegi ratings, themes and editions. Users would also have the option of digitally downloading the games, a service which will be commenced soon. Games The Shop online store also offers several deals and bundles on the game titles along with a separate section for 'Deals of the week'.

The website is currently selling popular game titles like Grand Theft Auto V, FIFA 2014 World Cup, Thief, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and more, while also featuring such anticipated games as Assassin's Creed: Unity, Batman: Arkham Knight and Watch Dogs for pre-order.

The Games The Shop website besides game titles also sells game consoles such as PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One along with system peripherals. The shipping service is available all over India. One can buy items as a guest or can create an account.

"We wanted to take our 'Games The Shop' retail experience to all India customers and give them same friendly and game specialist services. Our e-commerce site empowers us to take our products to 522 cities and connecting us to 4079 pin codes across India. Gamers and fans are always eager get their hands on a game on the day of launch. We hope to get most of the games in the consumers' hand the day it releases. This on par with any other website in the world!," stated Amit Kehmani, Managing Director of Games The Shop, to IGN.

The launch of the Games The Shop website puts it in competition with Games4U, Origin and other popular online game retail websites.

Earlier this month, Origin, the Electronic Arts' game distribution service initiated its 'On the House' promotion, which for limited periods gave users of the Origin client free AAA titles.
