Origin, Electronic Arts' game distribution service, has initiated its 'On the House' promotion, which for limited periods will give users of the Origin client AAA titles for free.

All interested gamers have to use or create an Origin account, and then install the Origin client, before they can access the free AAA game titles available via the On the House promotion. The main catch is that that EA will offer just one game (full version) to download for free and that too for a limited time period.

Users, after adding the free On the House game to their Origin game libraries, will be able to access it from other computers once they log into the client, and the free game remains a part of their libraries. For now, Dead Space is free to download until May 8. One can tap on 'Quick View' and check for the system requirements of the title before downloading it.

Electronic Arts, back in January, launched the remake of its classic 1997 PC title, Dungeon Keeper, releasing it for the Android and iOS mobile platforms. The free-to-download game flaunts 3D graphics, and the overall design is consistent with the original title. The game is both a tower defence-style (when defending) with real-time strategy (when attacking) game.

As a rival to Electronic Arts' Origin, Valve's Steam game distribution service has been coming up with a number of offers and new features to lure gamers. In January, Steam introduced its Steam Family Sharing feature that enabled users' family members to play each other's game titles, earning Steam achievements, and saving their game progress to Steam Cloud. Users can authorise Family Library Sharing on up to 10 devices at a given time, and for up to five accounts that may then use your game library on any of your authorised computers.
