Online travel website Cleartrip launched a new feature on its website and apps Thursday, the Activities tab, providing a hand-picked and comprehensive collection of activities, experiences, and things to do in your city and also when you are away. Cleartrip has aggregated over 2,000 activities over 30 cities, spanning metros, and tourist destinations.

There are currently over 150 themes on the Activities tab of Cleartrip, such as culinary classes, food walks, segway tours, luxury bike rentals, yachting, adventure, go karting, photography trails, hiking, kids, day outings, dance, night treks, and more.

"We are striving hard to bring the holiday experience to your city, and without you having to travel," writes Sathish Balakrishnan, Senior Product Manager at Cleartrip.com on the blog. The Activities feature is enabled presently on all of Cleartrip's mobile and Web platforms - including iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.

We took the app for a quick test drive on Android to look at some of the activities listed in Bengaluru over the weekend. The activity listings are well populated, and presented as quick visual snapshots of what's in store. Some of the activities listed start as low as Rs. 200. Tapping on them for more details showed details like duration, meeting point, operational days/hours, activity description, and some information on the service provider. All in all, the booking solution is as quick and seamless as Cleartrip's flight booking module.

In April 2014, travel industry research firm PhoCusWright rated Cleartrip as one of the top three players in terms of market share. MakeMyTrip was the market leader, with a 47 percent share, followed by Yatra, which had a 20 percent market share. Founded by Hrush Bhatt, Stuart Crighton, and Matthew Spacie in 2006, the firm has raised over $55 million in venture funding.
