Huawei CarFi 4G LTE Hotspot for Up to 10 Devices Launched at MWC 2015

After launching smartphones and smartwatches at MWC 2015 on Sunday, Huawei also unveiled a new in-car 4G LTE hotspot device dubbed the Huawei CarFi.

Unlike the conventional USB Wi-Fi hotspot dongles, the CarFi gets directly plugged into the DC port/ lighter socket found in most cars, and supports 4G LTE connectivity as well. The cellular hotspot device CarFi is claimed to deliver a download speed of up to 150Mbps and can connect up to 10 devices simultaneously. Huawei has not yet announced the price and availability for CarFi.

Huawei CarFi includes a single-SIM slot for cellular card and a female USB port for charging smartphones. Users can remotely control the CarFi device via Huawei Hilink app available for Android and iOS devices.

The Chinese company claims that the Huawei CarFi is built from fire-proof materials with carbon fibre finishing and provides more speed and stability in Wi-Fi while cruising.

On Sunday, Huawei kicked off its MWC 2015 campaign with the launch of the MediaPad X2 tablet alongside the entry-level Y360 and Y635 smartphones. Company also unveiled its first smartwatch dubbed Huawei Watch that runs Google's Android Wear operating system and features a 400x400 pixel 1.4-inch Amoled touchscreen with a pixel density of 286ppi. Huawei is expected to sell the smartwatch in 20 countries. Pricing and availability details are expected to be announced later.

Finally, the company also launched its Talkband B2 and Talkband N1 wearables. The Talkband B2 is dust and water resistant, and features Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity for compatibility with iOS and Android devices. It will launch in April for EUR 169 (roughly Rs. 11,700). The Talkband N1 are earphones that track your activity, and are geared towards fitness enthusiasts who prefer to listen to music while exercising. Huawei has priced the Talkband N1 at EUR 119 (roughly Rs. 8,200).
