In this weekly column, we talk to the men and women who are leading India in their field, and get a glimpse of how they work and which gadgets they're dreaming about. Rajesh Gupta, Country Manager India, SanDisk corporation tells us what devices he can't do without, and how technology has changed the way he works.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
I use a host of gadgets in my everyday life. Out of those, basic essentials are my ultra-slim and lightweight Lenovo X1 Carbon Ultrabook. With its ultraportable design, large screen and superior functionality, it helps me both at office and at home. Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone is a constant companion that enables me to access information, mails and business tools while on the go.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
The smartphone I use is an extension of my office and the SanDisk Memory Zone app helps to backup and access Word documents, pictures, music and videos flies with great ease. The app works as integrated storage connectivity between the smartphone, memory card and files that I have in the cloud. The app also comes with the feature to password protect all my files.

My go-to app to get anywhere around town would definitely be Google Maps because it helps in locating the best possible route for my travel. Also, as I travel throughout the country for partner meets, this app helps in navigating through unknown areas and small towns.

Another app which I use very often is Viber. This app helps me to stay connected with my team and family in my frequent travels abroad without feeling restricted and having relaxed and detailed conversations. With Wi-Fi connections at all public places including hotels and airports you are never shy of dialling a number to India!

What is one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive is my must-carry device wherever I go. It doubles up as a hassle-free storage device as well as a means of transferring files between gadgets. It comes in handy for times when I need to wirelessly transfer files between my smartphone, laptop and other smartphones.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
I'm waiting for a gadget that will be powered by thoughts. In my opinion, that will be revolutionary technology and change the way we interact with devices today. I'm sure this will soon be a reality.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Technology at work for me has definitely helped in reducing time and distance because it helps me to connect with people in real-time. As information and data is easily accessible and exchangeable, problem-solving has become better. Technology has made the world a smaller, smarter place and always connected. The immense consumption of data in today's world also paves a way for better decision making and plan execution.
