Gionee Marathon M4 With 4G Support, 5000mAh Battery Launched at Rs. 15,499

Gionee has launched the Marathon M4 in India, priced at Rs. 15,499. The new Gionee smartphone will be available in India via offline and online stores.

The Gionee Marathon M4 - like other members of the Marathon series of smartphones - sports a large battery - 5000mAh battery in this case, which is perhaps the largest battery in a sub-Rs. 15,000 smartphone. Notably, the Marathon M3 smartphone, launched last year, also featured a 5000mAh battery. Other Marathon range handset includes the Gionee Marathon M2, which pack a 4200mAh battery. Another highlight of the smartphone is it supports 4G bands in India - TDD-LTE 2300MHz Band 40 and FDD-LTE 1800MHz Band 3.

The dual-SIM based Gionee Marathon M4 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop-based with the company's Amigo 3.0 UI on top. It comes with a 5-inch (720x1280 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It bears 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera also on board. The company claims that the 5000mAh battery can deliver up to 400 hours of standby time and 18 hours of talk time on 3G networks.

Apart from 4G, other connectivity options on the Gionee Marathon M4 include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS/ A-GPS, and Bluetooth options. It measures 144.7x71.2x10.18mm and will be available in Black and White colours.
