While Android devices have a reputation of playing catch-up to the latest version of the platform, it seems like the companies don't want to miss out in the case of Android Oreo. After Sony and Nokia, Huawei Terminal brand Honor has reportedly confirmed that its Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X smartphones will be receiving Android 8.0 Oreo update.
After a meeting in Delhi last week, an XDA Developer user has shared that the company has confirmed the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Honor 8 Pro and Honor 6X smartphones, as pointed out in a report by The Android Soul. Apart from confirming the update, the company has also shared the timeline for the release of these updates.
While the Honor 8 Pro is expected to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update by the end of this year, the Honor 6X is likely to receive it by December or January, as per the post on XDA Developer forum.
The Honor 8 Pro has been priced by the company at Rs. 29,999 and sports a dual rear camera setup, 6GB RAM, and 4000mAh battery. On the other hand the Honor 6X smartphone was launched in India back in January and the company later slashed prices of the smartphone back in June, dropping the the price of the 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant from Rs. 12,999 to Rs. 11,999, and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant from Rs. 15,999 to Rs. 13,999.
