Being the first to introduce a QHD (1440x2560 pixels) resolution display in smartphones last year, LG is now being tipped to break its own G3 record by using a 3K display on the upcoming LG G4.

The LG G4 is reported to feature the rather high resolution of 3K (1620x2880 pixels), which will also prove to be one of the highest pixel-rich displays in the market, if the user agent profile (UAP) of the handset codenamed LG-VS999 is any indication.

The handset, based on the codename, spotted appears to be the Verizon-bound version of the LG G4 flagship smartphone, reports MyLGPhones website (via Phonearena). It is worth mentioning that LG G3's Verizon model is codenamed LG-VS985.

Unfortunately, the UAP fails to reveal the size of the display or any other specifications for that matter. If LG chooses to maintain the 5.5-inch display size used in the LG G3, a 3K resolution on the LG G4 would translate to a pixel density of roughly 600 pixels per inch, significantly higher than the Galaxy S5 LTE-A's 5.1-inch QHD display and its 576ppi.

In related news, LG changed its stance on the performance on the Snapdragon 810 from "quite satisfactory" early last month to "problems in the initial sample" later the same month, adding that the G Flex2 and the LG G4 will arrive will arrive at their scheduled times - thereby hinting the LG G4 will ship with the Snapdragon 810 SoC as well. The information was revealed at LG press conference for its Q4 earnings.

The LG G4 is rumoured to run on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box, and feature a 16-megapixel rear camera. LG kicked off its year with the launch of the G Flex2, which went on sale in South Korea at KRW 800,000 (roughly Rs. 45,400), shortly after the phone went up for pre-orders at EUR 599 (approximately Rs. 44,100) in Germany via a third-party online retailer.
