Reliance Retail has launched the latest smartphone in its Lyf series of smartphones, the Lyf F8, in India. The dual-SIM smartphone comes with 4G VoLTE capability and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It is already available at Rs. 4,199 and on sale via the company's retail stores across the country.
The Lyf F8 sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA (480x854 pixels) IPS display. The smartphone packs a 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB).
In terms of optics, the Lyf F8 comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera, coupled with LED flash, and a 5-megapixel camera at the front for taking selfies.The smartphone houses a 2000mAh battery and is available in two colour options - Black and Blue. In terms of connectivity, the Lyf F8 offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS, and 3.5mm audio jack connectivity options.
The Lyf F8 measures 132.6x66.2x9.3mm and weighs 138 grams. The smartphone comes with "Swift Gesture Control" feature that allows users to launch the camera app, control the music player, and access apps directly from lock screen using gestures.
The company made news earlier this week when a man claimed on social media that his Lyf smartphone exploded and burst into flames. The man posted the pictures of his exploded smartphone and the company has since initiated an investigation regarding the case.
