OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T Now Receiving OxygenOS 4.0.1 Update With Bug Fixes and More

After the big Android 7.0 Nougat-based OxygenOS 4.0 update last week, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users are now again receiving an incremental OxygenOS 4.0.1 update to their devices. The update is focused on bringing a lot of critical bug fixes and improvements.

The update brings added status bar icon options, improved shelf customisation, updated APN Settings for select carriers, fixed proximity sensor bug during calls, and increased system stability.

Notably though, the OxygenOS 4.0.1 update has some known issues - such as a Google Play download issue, and provides some manual workaround measures to fix it.

The OnePlus changelog states that not being able to download from Google Play is a known Google issue, and recommends not downloading through mobile data. OnePlus also redirects to these Google troubleshooting steps for resolving the problem if it persists. It also recommends turning on the Battery Saving Mode and resetting Google Play app preferences. Furthermore, the changelog notes another workaround that involves force stopping or uninstalling Truecaller, AVG Antivirus, and Paytm from your smartphone before performing a download from Google Play.

The OxygenOS 4.0.1 update also fixes mobile data and Wi-Fi connectivity issues that some users were experiencing. However, the changelog notes that users who continue to experience issues can go to APN settings page and manually try all options available. The changelog also notes that Wi-Fi fluctuation issues may still exist.

The Android 7.0 Nougat-based OxygenOS 4.0.1 update is being pushed out over-the-air and will reach all users over the coming days. The company is again calling it an "incremental rollout", implying that it will roll out in batches, and only a few users will receive it on the first day, while others should receive it over the course of the next few days. The company has released the entire changelog on its forum.
