Oppo Reno series of smartphones are less than a week away from their official launch, but leaks and official teasers keep coming in. Ahead of the launch, the Oppo Reno has gone up for reservation on the company's OppoShop website, revealing the colour options and the storage variants. The listing also divulged some features such as VOOC 3.0 fast charging support and NFC, and also indicates the presence of a 48-megapixel camera. Additionally, Oppo's Vice President has confirmed that a variant called Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition is also in the pipeline. Separately, an EU trademark application hints at the name Oppo's innovative pop-up camera design will be called - Shark Fin. Finally, alleged camera samples have made their way to the Internet.

The Oppo Reno series is expected to debut at an event on April 10, but one of them has already been listed for reservation on the OppoShop website. The listing reveals that the smartphone will be available in a total of four colour options viz. Nebula Purple, Extreme Night Black, Fog Sea Green, and Mist Powder. As per the listing, the device will be available in multiple configurations with the RAM capacity ranging between 6GB and 8GB while the inbuilt storage will either be 128GB or 256GB. Listed below are the memory configurations in which the various colour options of the Oppo Reno will be available:

  • Extreme Midnight Black: 6GB +128GB, 6GB+256GB
  • Nebula Purple: 6GB + 128GB
  • Fog Sea Green: 6GB+256GB, 8GB+256GB
  • Mist Powder: 6GB+256GB

Another page on the OppoShop states that the Oppo Reno will come with a Panoramic screen, a 48 million camera, NFC, and VOOC 3.0 support for fast charging. Regarding the display, Oppo has officially revealed on Weibo that the Oppo Reno smartphone's display will offer a screen-to-body ratio of 93.1 percent. Furthermore, the post added that the Standard Edition of the Oppo Reno has been fully booked. The accompanying image states that the chin will just be 3.49mm thick while the side bezels will only be 1.59mm thin.

Additionally, Oppo's Vice President Shen Yiren Brian has revealed that the company will also launch a variant of the Oppo Reno called 10X Zoom Edition that will also come with support for dual-frequency GPS. This is most likely the version that will feature a periscope camera with 10x zoom functionality. An alleged marketing video has also surfaced online that shows a feature called Ultra Clear Night View 2.0, which reportedly assists at recording brighter clips in low-light conditions. The video in question was first shared by BangGogo, which also shared an image of a Reno series smartphone with triple rear cameras a few days ago.

The leaked case renders and images suggest that the Oppo Reno will feature a pop-up selfie camera that will only lift from one side at an angle. Well, Oppo's take on the pop-up camera will be marketed as “Shark Fin” selfie camera, at least that's what trademark listing says. As per a trademark application filed by Oppo before the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the pop-up camera module will reportedly be called Shark Fin. The trademark listing was first spotted by MySmartPrice.

Additionally, alleged camera samples highlighting the low-light photography prowess of the Oppo Reno's 48-megapixel main camera have also surfaced online. And at first glance, the results look impressive with great depth and dynamic range. The camera samples were shared on Chinese micro-blogging platform Weibo. It appears that Oppo will launch multiple smartphones in the Reno series that will include a Standard Edition, Oppo Reno Lite, Oppo Reno 10X Zoom Edition and a high-end version powered by the Snapdragon 855, with the last having already been confirmed officially by an Oppo executive.
