Samsung's long-rumoured Galaxy A-series of handsets, the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7, might be launched as soon as early next month by the Korean smartphone maker, as per a new report.

The Korea Times reports that Samsung, besides being tipped to launch the three handsets in November in China, is also hoping to claim back the market lost in that country to rising local smartphone maker Xiaomi. A second quarter report by Canalys found that Xiaomi had overthrown Samsung as the top smartphone maker in China, a fact that has propelled other companies to take Xiaomi head on, including Lenovo with a brand targeted specifically at competing with the 3-year old company.

The report suggests that Samsung will price its Galaxy A-series handsets, which have been spotted sporting metal chamfered edges, competitively with the Xiaomi Mi 4, from $350 (roughly Rs. 21,500) to $500 (roughly Rs. 30,700).

Notably, Xiaomi in Q3 became the world's third-largest smartphone vendor after Apple and Samsung, as per a Strategy Analytics report.

Based on earlier leaks, the rumoured Galaxy A7 is likely to be priced between $450 and $500 (roughly Rs. 24,500 and Rs. 30,700) and will launch in limited countries, unlike the Samsung Galaxy A3 and Samsung Galaxy A5, which are expected to be more widely available. The Galaxy A7 is also expected to come with LTE connectivity.

The rumoured Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 are said to be priced between the $400 to $450 (roughly Rs. 24,500 to 27,500), and $350 to $400 (roughly Rs. 21,500 to Rs. 24,500) price brackets respectively.

Previous rumours indicate the Samsung Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A3 to be the most powerful and the most basic models respectively. Notably, the Galaxy A3's specifications were tipped via a Tenaa listing last month, while the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 specifications were spotted couple of days ago through an online retailer and via the GFXBench results respectively. In addition, the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 handsets were also hinted to arrive in dual-SIM variants.
