After unveiling what is perhaps Samsung's most gorgeous looking flagship smartphones to date, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, we now await the company's next in its 'Galaxy Note' series. The South Korean tech giant will be unveiling the Galaxy Note 8 in the second half of 2017 and a new report claims that the phablet will feature an Infinity Display similar to the Galaxy S8 and will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

To recall, the Infinity Display is a fancy term Samsung has kept for the near bezel-less display that the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ come with. Thin slim bezels on the top and bottom and the curved sides of the flagship smartphones give them a 18.5:9 display ratio for an immersive experience. Samsung is looking to bring the same Infinity Display to the Galaxy Note 8, according to report by a Dutch website, which also revealed that the company is testing the phone on the latest version of Android Nougat.

Samsung's upcoming phablet is tipped to sport a 6.3-inch display, which is just slightly bigger than the Galaxy S8+, and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC in the US and the Exynos 8895 chipset outside the US. The Infinity Display could also support past rumours that the Galaxy Note 8 will also ditch the Home Button. Instead, we could see the fingerprint sensor under the display as was previously imagined for the Galaxy S8. Ever since Synaptics unveiled the optical fingerprint scanner technology that now makes it possible to scan fingerprint through glass, many have expected Samsung to implement it for its flagship.

The Galaxy Note 8 is tipped to feature a dual camera setup on the back which will consist of a 12-megapixel wide-angle CIS supporting dual photodiode, and a 13-megapixel telephoto CIS. It will support 3X optical zoom, come with dual 6P lenses, and support dual OIS as well.

Leaked dummy images of the Galaxy Note 8 surfaced late last month that support not only the dual rear camera rumour, but also a possibility of under-the-screen fingerprint sensor as there were no hints of a physical fingerprint scanner either on the front or the back. Meanwhile, it's still unknown whether the Galaxy Note 8 will get an S Pen.
