Citing some industry sources, ET News, a Korean Publication has posted a some information about Samsung's next Galaxy S5 smartphone. The site claims that the device will come with a metal chassis and will go into production by end of this year. However, the device is expected to be unveiled only by next fall. The report also notes that the company may start a new production line to manufacture the metal chassis, later this year.
For its previous Galaxy S series flagship smartphone upgrades, such as the Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy S4, the company had been using a form of plastic for the body which helped to reduce the weight of the devices.
But if the new rumours are to be believed, we can expect the next Galaxy flagship to sport a metal body.
Meanwhile, the next generation Galaxy Note device and the long-rumoured Galaxy Gear smart watch are now confirmed for a September 4 launch courtesy a Samsung official.
The Samsung Galaxy Note III is rumoured to sport a 5.68-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It is likely to be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800/ Exynos octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. While the Galaxy Gear smart watch is likely to include a 1.5GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 4212 processor with 1GB of RAM. It will reportedly feature a 1.67-inch AMOLED display that will feature a resolution of 320x320 pixels.
There have been reports that suggest that Samsung will start shipping the Galaxy Note III from September and the Galaxy Gear smart watch from October.
