Sony Xperia tipo goes up for pre-orders at Rs. 9,499

Sony's Xperia tipo finally gets a price tag. The device is available for pre-order on Flipkart listed at a price of Rs. 9,499. and is expected to ship in the 2nd week of September.

The Xperia tipo is a budget Android smartphone running on Ice Cream Sandwich. The device comes with a 3.2-inch TFT display supporting a 480x320 pixel resolution. An 800MHz processor will help power the device, which has 512MB RAM.

There's a 3.2MP autofocus rear camera on-board the Xperia tipo. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3G and Bluetooth. The tipo comes with 2.5GB internal storage and up to 32 GB expandable memory via microSD. It will be available in colour options of black, white, red and blue.

The company had announced the launch of its Xperia tipo smartphone in June along with the Xperia miro and the Xperia tipo dual. The Xperia miro came out of the closet almost 9 days ahead of its announcement, thanks to the company's Facebook campaign. With the Xperia tipo receiving it pricing and availability details, can we expect these details for the other two Xperia Android smartphones to be announced soon?
