It is now almost certain that Samsung will be unveiling its Galaxy Gear smart watch at an event in Berlin on September 4 along with the much hyped Galaxy Note III. But the rumours related to the first wearable tech from the South Korean major don't seem to stop coming.

A new report by Giga Om's Om Malik shares key details related to the smart watch. According to the report, apps designed to leverage the yet to be unveiled smart watch's hardware will not come from Google's Play Store but from Samsung's own app store that come pre-loaded only on company's Galaxy smartphones. If this is true, the upcoming wearable smart watch from the South Korean major may only work with a Samsung Galaxy smartphone or tablet, and not just any Android device.

Malik also claims that the smart watch will sync with smartphones with the help of Samsung watch manager app that will manage the connection between both the devices.

The report also claims that different variations of the smart watch were seeded to developers and majority of them featured square screens with OLED display which measures around 2.5-inches diagonally, while with the casing it measures about 3-inches. The report also notes that the smart watch may run Android 4.1 or a later version and feature speakers in its clasp. The watch will also feature NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, a built-in accelerometer to switch on the display when you move it towards the eye, as well as "enough sensors that it can start to compete with wearable computing devices such as the Nike FuelBand".

Other hardware specifications are in-line with an earlier report. The rumoured specifications of the alleged Galaxy Gear smart watch include a 1.5GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 4212 processor with ARM Mali-400 MP4 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

It will reportedly have a resolution of 320x320 pixels. It is likely to include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC to allow for bump-to-sync and authenticate. The earlier leaked specifications revealed that the smart watch may include a 2-megapixel camera.
