E-commerce firm Snapdeal has partnered US-based GOQii to bring the latter's fitness band and services to consumers in India.

Customers will be able to place orders for a GOQii subscription directly from Snapdeal.com with the complete plan including the proprietary GOQii band, the GOQii Personal Coach service and the GOQii app, Snapdeal said in a statement.

The six-month plan will cost Rs. 5,999, while the 12-month package has been priced at Rs. 9,999.

The band is an advanced fitness tracker, while the personal coach works with the user's data to provide customised advice on a regular basis and to keep the user motivated and on track to success by goal reinforcement.

"At GOQii, we are passionate about providing our consumer all the support needed to stimulate their body, mind and soul and to achieve a permanent shift to a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle," GOQii founder and CEO Vishal Gondal said.

Gondal had also founded Indiagames, which was later acquired by the Walt Disney Co.

GOQii is backed by angel investors like Amit Singhal (Google), Dr. Shriram Nene and his wife and Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Kanwaljit Bombra (Dell), Mahesh Samat (Epic), Mike McNamara (Flextronics), Prashant Gulati (TiE) and Vijay Vashee (Microsoft).

"GOQii Life is yet another feather in our cap as it clearly propagates a relevant mode of life for our customers. Health enthusiasts today are keen on investing in sustainable and practical methods to holistic well-being and India has become a high potential market for this concept of living today," Snapdeal co-Founder and CEO Kunal Bahl said.

An integral part of the GOQii idea is 'Karma' points, which can be earned by meeting daily goals. These points can be used to donate to good causes and GOQii has already tied up with Oxfam India as its Karma partner.
