In an attempt to improve the Android tablet experience, at least in terms of app discoverability, Google has announced that the tablet-optimised apps will be more visible for those browsing the Play store with a tablet starting November 21.

The announcement comes from Android Developers blog as a reminder for developers to get their apps and games prepared for tablet usage. The blog post by Ellie Powers, Google Play team notes, "On November 21, the Play Store will make a series of changes so it's even easier for tablet users to find those apps that are best for their devices. First, by default, users browsing Google Play on a tablet will now see apps and games that are designed for tablets on the top lists (Top Paid, Top Free, Top Grossing, Top New Paid, Top New Free, and Trending). Tablet users will still be able to switch the view so they can see all apps or games if they choose."

The new change on Google Play for tablet users will prompt them to a new section which will house only the apps that will work best on the large-sized tablet display.

Further the search engine giant also confirmed that starting November 21, apps and games that would not meet company's 'designed for tablets' criteria will be marked as 'designed for phones' for the users browsing Play store on Android tablets. The blog post also claimed that more than 70 million Android tablets have now been activated.

In the meantime, Google is expected to unveil the next Nexus smartphone and Android 4.4 KitKat, the new iteration of Google's mobile operating system on October 15, as per a recent report.
