Aircel unveils special offers for MediaTek-powered Micromax devices

Aircel, MediaTek and Micromax have announced a strategic partnership in India. The new partnership is an attempt to boost the mobile ecosystem. Under the new alliance, Aircel will be offering special data plans and other benefits on MediaTek-based Micromax devices.

Micromax has announced four devices, MMX 377G dongle, Funbook Mini 410i tablet, Micromax A090 and X070 feature phones, which are powered by MediaTek chipsets and will be getting the offers from Aircel.

The popular Indian handset maker revealed that the products with new offers will be available starting April 2014.

The Micromax dongle MMX 377G consumers will be getting free 2GB data per month for first three months, after which users will be receiving double data value on every recharge for next three months.

With the yet-to-be-launched Micromax Funbook Mini 410i tablet, users will be getting benefits for three months which include free 1GB data per month, while for local calls 1.2 paisa/2 seconds charge and 1.2 paisa/second for STD calls. The company is also offering WAP content worth Rs. 10,000 and a free Popkorn TV app.

With Micromax A090 and X070 data enabled feature phones, users will be receiving benefits for three months including 500MB data free; 1.2 paisa/2 seconds local calling and 1.2 paisa/second STD calling charges. The Micromax A090 and X070 devices will also get WAP content worth Rs. 10,000.

While MediaTek supports us with the hardware, Aircel offers customized offerings for consumers to get a complete, affordable and seamless data experience across the country."

Aircel's Chief Marketing Officer, Anupam Vasudev said, "Today's youth are well informed on the data consumption patterns and therefore smart devices becomes an integrated tool to propel consumption of videos, social TV, HD gaming, content on demand etc. Keeping in line with consumer's needs and demands, Aircel is bullish on device tie ups.
