British company Chord Electronics has launched the Mojo digital-analogue converter (DAC) and headphone amplifier in India. The Mojo is priced at Rs. 39,990 in India, and is available to buy now through personal audio specialist online retailer headphonezone.in.

The Chord Mojo is among Chord's more affordable options, and features an amplifier that can drive headphones with an impedance rating of between 4-800Ohms. It uses a Xilinx Artix-7 DAC, which is capable of processing a wide range of audio formats, including high-resolution audio files encoded at 32-bit/768kHz, as well as quad DSD 256. The device is claimed to have a total harmonic distortion of only 0.00017 percent, and weighs a comfortable 180 grams.

The Chord Mojo has only three buttons on the device itself, with one for power and two for controlling volume, which are all illuminated and cycle through a wide variety of colours. Input selection is fully automatic, depending on what is plugged into the device. If multiple inputs are connected, the system prioritises them as USB first, coaxial second, and optical third. There are two 3.5mm audio output sockets, which will allow you to output sound from the same source to two different headphones using the Chord Mojo. Additionally, there are separate Micro-USB ports for charging and input, so both can be used at the same time.
