Gadgets 360 With TG: Did You Know a Computer Was Time Magazine's 'Machine of the Year' in 1983?

The first issue of Time Magazine in January 1983 featured a "Machine of the Year" in contrast to the annual "Person of the Year".  The magazine's cover featured a sculpture of a man made of plaster seated in front of a red table with a personal computer (PC) on top. While computers are widely available today, the depiction of the device on the cover of a magazine at the time serves as a reminder of how its arrival changed the world in several ways in that decade.
