Google Pixel, Pixel XL pre-orders start on Flipkart
Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are available for pre-orders on Flipkart starting today, though only three variants of the total eight are listed on the website presently. The only models available for advanced bookings are the 32GB Quite Black Pixel, 128GB Quite Black Pixel, and 128GB Quite Black Pixel XL. Flipkart is promising delivery of the phones by October 25.

Samsung reassures users that Galaxy S7 is safe
Mired in controversy surrounding the exploding Galaxy Note 7, Samsung is trying to reassure owners of Galaxy S7 that their handsets are safe. The company is reportedly sending push messages to Samsung Galaxy S7 users that their phones are safe and not affected by the recall.

Airtel launches 100Mbps broadband service
Airtel has launched a super-fast broadband service called V-Fiber that offers Internet speeds up to 100Mbps; Chennai is the first city to get this. The company has also expanded its unlimited free voice calling facility, earlier available on select plans, to all broadband plans it provides.

Mobile manufacturers ask government to defer mandatory panic button rollout
Handset manufacturers have requested the government to defer the deadline for implementation of panic button in mobile phones to April 1. The reason cited for the delay is that mobile phone manufacturers are unable to test the feature with proposed single emergency number 112, which is not operational at present.

Sony launches premium KD-65Z9D 4K HDR TV at Rs. 5,04,900
Sony has launched the new KD-65Z9D 4K HDR TV in India, with a price tag of Rs. 5,04,900. The high-end LED television set features a 4K screen and high dynamic range compatibility, allowing you to watch HDR-mastered video which has better colour and contrast than ordinary standard dynamic range video.

Amazon expands Pantry grocery box service to Bengaluru
Amazon has expanded Pantry, a service under which the company allows users to shop for over 4,000 everyday essentials such as grocery and household products, to Bengaluru. Prime users do not need to pay any delivery charges under a Pantry grocery box service promotional offer, while other customers have to pay a delivery fee of Rs. 20.
