OnePlus 3T smartphone launched in India
OnePlus 3T – the mid-year upgrade to the OnePlus 3 – has been launched in the Indian market. The OnePlus 3T price for the 64GB and 128GB models are Rs. 29,999 and Rs. 34,999, respectively; the OnePlus, on the other hand, costs Rs. 27,999. Available exclusively via Amazon, the OnePlus 3T goes on sale at 12.01 am on December 14. The OnePlus 3T smartphone features the Snapdragon 821 processor, 16-megapixel front camera, Gunmetal colour option.

Reliance Jio Happy New Year Offer to be examined by TRAI
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has said that it will examine the Reliance Jio Happy New Year Offer that was announced on Thursday. The Reliance Jio Happy New Year Offer extends all the freebies of the Jio Welcome Offer – such as data, voice calls, SMSs – till March 31, 2017. TRAI had earlier allowed Jio to provide free services to customers who purchased its SIM cards under the Jio Welcome Offer.

Moto G4, Moto G4 Play available at a discount, with cashbacks
The 16GB and 32GB variants of the Moto G4 smartphone are currently available at a discount of Rs. 2,000, bringing down their respective prices to Rs. 10,499 and Rs. 11,999. On the other hand, the Moto G4 Play smartphone comes with cashback of Rs. 1,000 in the form of Amazon Gift Card. Both smartphones are exclusively available via Amazon India. Moto G4 and Moto G4 Play come with the Reliance Jio Welcome Offer bundled in, along with an additional ebook credit of Rs. 300.

Freedom 251 maker summoned over bounced cheque
The promoters of Ringing Bells, the company behind the ultra-cheap Freedom 251 smartphone – have been summoned by a Delhi court as the accused in a case related to bounced cheque of Rs. 2 crores. Magistrate Snigdha Sarvaria in the court order noted that even after the legal notice was sent to the accused after the cheque was dishonoured, Ringing Bells failed to pay the amount. The complainant, Aryan Infratech Pvt Ltd, has sought prosecution of Ringing Bells and its office bearers, as well as the full amount and compensation.

Samsung India may launch Gear S3 smartwatch range in January
Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the Gear S3 smartwatch in the Indian market in January. Both the Frontier and Classic variants of the Samsung Gear S3 smartwatch, which was unveiled globally in September this year, are said to be coming to India. The Gear S3 Frontier model comes with a rather rugged outdoor look, while the Classic variant of the smartwatch has a more refined appearance. However, both watches sport large faces and seem to be aimed at male consumers.

Airtel Payments Banks offer free minutes for first deposits
Airtel Payments Banks, launched last week as a pilot in Rajasthan, will offer one minute of free talk time for every rupee customers deposit with it. So if a customer opens an account with Airtel Payments Bank and deposits Rs. 1,000 as their first deposit, they will receive 1,000 free Airtel-to-Airtel (local/STD) minutes of talk time on their Airtel number. However, the offer applies to only first time deposits and is valid for up to 30 days.

Apple reportedly planning to use drones to improve Maps
Apple is said to be mulling the use of drones and new indoor navigation features to improve its Maps service. The company is reportedly assembling a team of robotics and data-collection experts that will use drones to update mapping data quicker than the current camera-and-sensor equipped minivans Apple has. This is part of an effort to beat market leader Google Maps. Apple is also said to be adding new features to Maps, including views inside buildings and bettering its car navigation.
