So I came into a lil money, so I decided to get a computer... I dont game all that much but i do like using photoshop & premiere & i do alot of multitasking. So I wanted an above average laptop & from everything I kno & researched a gaming computer was a somewhat safe route to take. Then I got looking & man its exhausting "at least it was 4 me" Had it zeroed down to 3, HP Omen, Lenovo Y20 Legion & the Acer Nitro 5... All the others "as is" came with 8gb RAM & this was the real deal breaker 4 me the Omen came with a HDD no SSD & the Lenovo I believe came with a 128gb & 1tb hdd... so I decided to go with this bad boy & I'm glad I did cause I wasnt disappointed at all!!!! Had a lil hiccup in the beginning in which Cardinal Electronics Pro responded within minutes of me sending him a question, which turned out to be my mistake... I thought the product had been registered already as I went to Acer to register it & it told me it was already registered.? But somehow i had already registered it, lol Def solid laptop, luv the red backlit keyboard & it's just classy, fast, FAST, I MEAN FAST AF!!!!

Es una excelente equipo, el SSD ayuda mucho en acelerar la apertura de aplicaciones y el tiempo de carga de Windows (aprox. 4.5 seg). Por el momento la he utilizado con aplicaciones como Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Meshmixer y CorelDraw sin notar ningún problema con el rendimiento del equipo, los 16GB de RAM son suficientes para realizar multiples tareas. Solo he tenido oportunidad de correr el juego F1 2017 en ella pero la tarjeta GeForce GTX 1050Ti permite colocar todos los settings en Ultra High Quality @46fps y High Quality @62fps, la pantalla es IPS 1080p no es la mejor calidad pero su definición es mas que aceptable aunque siento que es algo oscura. El único inconveniente que le he encontrado hasta el momento es la iluminación del teclado, solo tiene dos valores; encendido o apagado y en ciertas ocasiones es algo inconveniente para identificar las teclas, pero una vez acostumbrado a la distribución el problema desaparece. No he tenido tiempo de verificar bien la duración de la batería pero usando aplicaciones ligeras como Office ofrece alrededor de 4 hrs de uso, no tengo intención de usar juegos o suites que requieren mas rendimiento sin tenerla conectada. Pero en general el sistema ofrece una calidad y rendimiento muy bueno por su precio.

After about 6 months of using this laptop, I can confirm that it deserves the 5/5 rating.Performance is great with pretty much everything I throw at it - starting from heavy matlab simulations, Big Solidworks models and hours of PUBG (around 70FPS with ~medium quality display settings)Almost no issues during this time.The Nitro 5 performs even better then Lenovo's or Dell's higher spec laptops my friends have.Regarding the design - It looks great! It's a little heavy, no biggie though as its a gaming laptop and I wasn't expecting a feather. The Base of the laptop feels good and high quality plastic, except for the plastics around the screen which feel a little flimsy. nothing happened though so I can't really complain.Great viewing angles from the IPS monitor and the keyboard+mousepad are accurate and respond well.The only issues I encountered during this time was some unexpected hibernation's (which I disabled, so not sure I it happens).

I use it to do 3D work and compared to $2k+ overrated Macbook Pros these guys run a lot more efficiently and smoother than its Apple counterparts, not only in 3D but 2D software as well.

Let me begin by saying that I've been using this for a couple of months now and I absolutely love it!Pros:- Very fast processing and data transfer- Slick design- Red back-lit keyboard is awesome- Plenty of storage- Capable of playing new games using high settings.- Usb-c port- Quiet- Great priceCons:- Limited battery life if trying to play games- Not dedicated volume buttons (have to use function arrow up and arrow down)- Gets pretty hot

Best gaming under $1000

Got this awesome machine at 70k last year and had no problems till now. It is powerful for and can play almost all the latest games at ultra with good fps.Played origins (45-55)fps, far cry 5 (55-60). Also upgrading with a ssd is also advised.The only problem i had is windows 10 game mode something lagg some games after 1703 update. You can disable the automatic update from services and disable game mode from regedit. Follow appropriate guide to do that

Battery life on this thing isn't the greatest. The most this thing lasted on a single charge from full is 3 hours. I will say that this laptop is amazing for gaming.

Amazing laptop for everything, only the battery could last a little longer!

Had one issue on second use. Had to send off to Acer. They repaired and sent back within a week. Also, they started warranty on my purchase date once I gave proof of purchase. Acer's support was A+. No issues since. Computer boots fast and runs quite. Battery life medium. It runs Steam games smoothly. Mostly on high setting.

Corre juegos como Overwatch o Fortnite en ajustes altos a mas de 60fps. Juegos mas recientes y exigentes se corren en medio/alto a 60 fps.- La SSD permite que se inicie rápidamente y es casi instantáneo el acceso a archivos. Ademas tiene un terabyte extra, eso si, es un poco lento.- Tiene puertos completos, incluso incluye un USB-C y una para carga.- Bocinas son buenas, potentes sin dañar la calidad del audio.Cons- Es un poco pesada.- El sistema de enfriamiento no es muy bueno, bajo carga se calienta bastante. Llega a los 90 grados Celsius.- La pantalla tiene un ligero blacklight bleed en las esquinas, pero nada que no permita ver bien. El brillo maximo no es muy alto.- Teclado viene en ingles.- El precio es elevado, cuesta alrededor de 800 dolares en EE.UU. A pesar de comprarla en promocion consto alrededor de 1000.

I like this laptop very much , has much power and look cool , the battery thou not last as they say here, it's just 3.5 hour just on browsing mode not gaming or working. with games the Laptop is so great , with graphic also so great and fast.

Just received this machine. Easy set-up, solid build and limited bloatware. I had not considered Acer, based on their rep from years ago, but they have made a massive turnaround, and their quality and customer service is great, rated only behind Apple. This replaces a Lenovo 510 that I purchased just a little over a year ago. That computer was consistently glitchy in many areas, and was really frustrating from day one. At this point, I'm really happy with this Acer. Will update this review in a month or so, after I use it for a while. You'll be hard pressed to find another gaming computer configured this well for the price.UPDATE AFTER ONE DAY: Attempted to connect to my LG 4k tv via HDMI. My old computer had no issues. I connect via HDMI and the screen on the TV is washed out and the only colors are a washed out purple and green. Tried a different HDMI cable and a different HDMI port. Same thing. Just to rule out the TV as an issue, I connected my other computer to the TV and it was fine. If I can't get this HDMI issue related, it's a deal breaker, and I will very regrettably either return it or ask for a replacement. Not a chance to ask for repairs for a one-day old laptop. On the bright side, everything else about this machine is great, as I said above. If I can resolve this issue, I will return the rating to 5 stars.

This laptop is great, but the battery is inconsistent. It does not seem to last the expected amount of time unplugged, and does not follow what you set as sleep and shut off times in your setting. Instead of shutting off after 5 min when unplugged for example, it will do so after 1 minute, despite my set preference. I called and went through the reset tiny hole in the back as they explained, which fixed it but only temporarily. Frustrating.

A great laptop, but there's one flaw!Pros:- Great efficiency- High speed- Compatible with modern gamesCons: - When I play War Thunder when plugged in it starts draining the battery and it gets super low. That's the reason why I am taking off two stars.

Return line because I bought it in 2019 and apparently this was made in 2017 I was not in the market for a really old computer sitting in a warehouse.

Great laptop for the price. It's able to run games smoothly at 60fps with at least medium settings for most games. Also handles my music production software very well. Only cons I've experienced are with the battery/overheating issues. I've had this laptop for just shy of 2 years and I've noticed my laptop becoming almost too hot to touch while playing certain games that it used to be able to handle. I've also encountered a very frustrating issue where the battery will stop charging once it gets to around 93% and the charging light will either blink on and off, indicating it's plugged in but not charging, or the charger will keep switching on and off, which makes the keyboard light, computer screen and this annoying beep switch on and off over and over unless I do a battery reset. Once I do the battery reset then the charging light just blinks and doesn't actually charge. I've scoured forums and can't find any solutions.

however, this laptop does NOT have 2 USB 3 ports, it only has one, plus a USB-C and 2 USB 2. That's why I'm giving 3 stars. The specs that said 2xUSB 3 is one of the reasons I ordered this. My old laptop died, so I'll deal with it, but I'm more than a little miffed.

Received this laptop yesterday and so far it has had to restart 3 times and the screen appears to have damage to it. Not impressed
