Best computer for the price. Came with all the upgrades that I needed for everyday computer use and the price was amazing. The touch screen is as advertised and my daughter can draw in the apps. Enough power (RAM) to get by and use for all programs.

This is my wife's laptop. Neither her nor I are computer experts that can rate how fast this thing is, or anything like that. But she has had zero problems with it. I guess we've had this for about 3 months now and my wife routinely lets our 5-year-old daughter use it for watching YouTube videos. I think that is where the ease of use of the touchscreen comes through. As our 3-year-old son is typically on hand to watch the videos too, it says something about the unit's physical durability as well.

I love how small it is for it's ability to play my little games like Overwatch without an issue

3 month review:I?ve been using this as my daily laptop for the past three months. Overall this laptop as configured (i7, 8gb ram, 256gb ssd) has worked great for the daily grind. Office suite, browsing, email, presentations via the flip screen, etc.I do photography as a hobby on the side and also leverage Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Unfortunately I felt that the integrated video card prohibited this unit from being able to really shine in the photo world. My recommendation would be to ensure you get the Acer version that has the NVIDIA chipset instead of the integrated graphics. This also became apparent when i tried to slip in some gaming fun. Fortnite and DOTA 2 were too much for the onboard graphics and resulted in having to set the graphics settings to low in order to have a consistent FPS with no lag.I will say that I was a little surprised at the sheer number of bloatware programs installed on this unit. LinkedIn, eBay, Ebates, and at least 15 others were already preinstalled. They were easy enough to uninstall, but be aware this isn't the cleanest install of Win 10.The Win10 partition is preinstalled on the 256GB SSD leaving about 200GB usuable after I got rid of as much bloatware as possible.The 1080p IPS screen seems a little dark (even at max brightness settings).I am surprised that a system with an i7 processor only comes with 8GB of RAM. Would expect 12GB or 16GB to really set this unit in the sweet spot.I have enjoyed really good battery life with this unit and have never felt there was unnecessary or accelerated drain. This may have to do with the perceived dark IPS screen (even adjusted brighter)All in all, there are a couple minor irritations (bloatware, dark screen, etc.) but having used this full time for the past three months. For the price, I think you'd be hard pressed to find something better with these specs.

Great and I love it! Easy to use and great ease of use

Intel?s new, eighth generation processor is remarkably fast. I notice increased processor performance of the 8th generation i7 in this wonderful Acer Spin 5, than which is offered by my last-gen i7 class laptop. The improved processor is impressively responsive.I love the 13? Full HD touch screen. With its reliable gesture translation, and remarkably vibrant picture, it is a joy to work with. I have yet to bother connecting to an external display, the built-in screen looks so great.The Acer Spin 5 makes a perfect work computer. I would imagine it could game like a champ, but for its limited amount of storage. This has plenty of room for all of my office applications, some media editing software, and language compilers.It is comfortable as a laptop, running incredibly cool. I have fun exploring its conveniently automated, customizable tablet mode, which is nice as an additional function, since I never was interested in a standalone tablet, it makes the Spin 5 an even better value having a makeshift tablet to use as a programming reference. I can go for a tablet with good old fashioned computer power, too. It?s super cool.I like the compact power supply, which is not inline, but rather at the outlet. With such low power consumpion, the battey charge lasts for a long time. It has a built in battery, so I worry a bit about the service life of the battey.I love the feel of the textured surface, and the sleek, sharp lines. I love everything about my Acer Spin 5. It?s a powerhouse of a work laptop, and it?s perfectly suited as such. I think it?s a pretty awesome machine.

Fast. 2019 model but still relevant in 2020. Graphics card not for gaming but great for moderate studio art.Light fast and comfortable on lap. Gets rather hot thought. Still better than a 2020 dell cheapo...

I have owned on of these now for about a year. Lightning fast. Boot up in about 10 sec with finger print reader. Just up graded it to 2TB SSD. Has a SATA M.2 2280 slot. Ram is not up-gradable, it's soldered in. I added 10 GB of virtual memory, takes about 30 seconds to set up. The SSD is PCI not PCIE but sill lightening fast. I would buy again.

Small and easy to carry. But large enough for the keyboard not to feel cramped. Speed is okay and plenty of storage for my needs.

Nice laptop and lightweight

This laptop is slim, and works perfect. If you need it it has good functionality and is very durable. The HD display gives a very clear picture and good quality speakers too

We use a lot of tablets in our house. We have 3 Surface tablets, 3 ipads and now this Acer Spin 5. Its comparable in specs and price to the Surface Pro tablets.There is a lot of similarity in performance and features, but the Surface Pro edges out the Spin 5 in several areas. A comparable Surface Pro is about $100 more (at Costco) than the Spin 5 at the time of this review. Its not a big price difference, but the Surface has better sound quality (speakers), more functionality (especially if you are an artist or work with pens) and better pre-installed software.I like the sturdiness of the Spin 5 (over the Surface Pro) and I favor using the Spin 5 for my kid's homeschool. I love that the keyboard flips back and becomes a very sturdy reliable stand. With the keyboard flipped back, it has a very small footprint. They can watch class lectures with the keyboard out of the way and not taking precious desk space while they work on the paper based assignments. It smoothly/intuitively transitions between tablet and keyboard modes so they flip the keyboard back down for digital work. I do wish the sound quality was better. This is the biggest weakness of this computer. My kids need to use earphones to hear it clearly (which is not a problem with the Surface).Thanks for reading. I hope this review is helpful!

Decent little computer. The only thing I don't like is that the screen isn't pressure sensitive, so I can't use it for art as I originally intentioned.

I watched YouTube videos and did a lot of research before purchasing this item, 2 in 1 Acer Spin 5. I couldn't make up my mind if a 2 in 1 will be for me, but I absolutely love everything about this laptop.Positives for me:(1) Backlit keyboard - I absolutely love this feature. It has an Off and On button (located on F8 key) and this was one feature I absolutely wanted. It doesn't have different levels of brightness you can choose from, but I didn't care because I can turn it off and on.(2) Stylus - I didn't read anywhere that it comes with a stylus, but my order came with one. Absolute plus and it works great.(3) Charger - Love the size of the charger. It's not bulky at all. Instead, it's this cute little cube that fits into the palm of my hand.(4) Touchscreen - The touchscreen is amazing and the stylus works well with the screen. Lets just say my toddler wouldn't even let me check it out for myself because she had so much fun with it.(5) Super thin - This laptop is thin thin thin. It doesn't feel as light as other ones I've seen, but the thinness makes up for it.(6) SD Card Slot, USB ports, HDMI, thunderbolt, fingerprint, and other features - Amazing! This part was the hardest for me when it came to choosing a new laptop. I didn't want a micro SD slot, I want the regular size one and I wanted to make sure it had enough USB ports, fingerprint and facial recognition features and everything else and this laptop had it all for me.(7) Key Stroke & Distance - Great! It would be even better if the Page Up and Down buttons weren't next to the arrows button, but I haven't had a problem with it either.Negatives for me:(1) The Pad - It seems quite sensitive at times and then at other times, it won't click on what I'm telling it to click on. This was frustrating at times, but I finally got a mouse so I don't think this will bother me as much. It doesn't happen often either. Just once in awhile.(2) Batter life - It says 13 hours, but after a full charge (without using the laptop while charging), I powered it on and it only said 4 hours with the battery life showing as full and at 100%.Some features I haven't tried:(1) Camera - I haven't tried chatting or try using the camera yet so I don't have any opinions about that at this time.

The main screen looks good and the machine is fast and comes up in seconds.I upgraded the SSD hard drive from 256 to 1 terabyte and that worked pretty well. The only issue I have had is the external HDMI port. When connecting to an external monitor, it's slightly blurry on the screen. I am not sure how to fix it, its probably from the Intel 620 graphics card. If I leave my screen larger 125% then I can read it ok.

I recieve the computer yesterday, it was everything flawless, except for this. Any help ??

I was initially upset and spent a couple hours on the phone due to Alexa NOT being "built-in" as advertised. Not I have Alexa downloaded and it says it does NOT work hands-free with this laptop. RIDICULOUS!! Alexa is mainly used as a hands-free device and is exactly why I purchased this. If it doesn't work hands-free, what's the point? VERY disappointed with Amazon for not checking this out and realizing it really does NOT work as Alexa is meant to be used. I will be returning this product and shopping for something else.So much for my PRIME DAY deal!Although this said it came "Alexa Enabled" it did not. I had to call Acer and they confirmed that it was not shipped with Alexa and they sent me the instructions to download it. One of the strong reasons I chose this laptop over others was this "extra." I'm disappointed at this point, but I'll update as I use it more!

Broken camera, a lot of blue screen death problem. Solved one and gets another.

I have purchased this laptop November 26, 2018 and received it on November 28th, 2018. On exactly November 29, 2019, the battery stopped charging, and no amount of re-setting would bring it back to life. It's almost as if this was software controlled to die few days after you buy it. Crazy stuff! I bet the battery replacement cost exceeds the value of the laptop....Other than that the laptop is OK - I just cannot use it without being tethered to the wall.....

This product is not working. the ( plus key ) and the touchpad stop working. I have been trying to call Acer Support and on hold for 2 hours. Please never BUY AN ACER

Nothing but problems with this computer. It won?t turn on upon inspection the power button catch is bent. It also won?t hold a charge. This has cost me more than one work deadline but something else!
