Google has updated its Search app again with a new location-based shopping feature that sets a reminder in form of a Google Now card.

The update to the Search app will be rolled out gradually, and is currently not available in India, where it was last updated on May 2.

The updated Search app will remember items that a user has searched for in the past, and then using location data, inform the user via a Google Now card when a nearby retail store is stocking the same item.

The reminder card shows the product and its price to user with a list of nearby stores where it can be purchased. Since it can't check the inventory as of now, users will have to go and check the stock themselves.

"If you're out and about and near a store that carries those boots, you might see a Google Now card showing you the product and price to remind you that you wanted them. Now all you have to do is pop into the store and check if they're in stock!" Google said via a Google+ post on Tuesday.

The search giant has been rolling out various updates to its Google Search app for Android recently. Earlier the app was updated with features like new reminders, ability to access Google Now cards offline, 'Parking Location' card, a centralised list of nicknames and more.

The added ability to access Google Now cards offline lets users view their Google Now cards even if there is no active Internet connection. In the absence of a data connection, the last state of the cards will be displayed, so while the information may not be up-to-the-minute, it's better than not having access to anything.

Also the 'Parking location' card automatically detects where users have parked their cars, and find the approximate location later.
