Skype for iOS updated, brings photo sharing and performance improvements

Skype, the popular video calling service updated its app for iOS by introducing a new feature, Photo Sharing.

Version 4.1 for the iPhone and iPad now lets users send and receive photos in chat. The good news is there's no limit on the file size.

In addition to this, Skype has also brought performance improvements within the app to make video calling experience more enjoyable. The service has also fixed bugs related to Bluetooth and calls and updated privacy settings.

Furthermore, Skype explained via its blog that the app is now "less battery hungry" claiming that users can keep the app open all day long in the background while responding to IMs and video chats. The app now loads faster during startup and while opening the contact list as well.

Skype 4.1 for iPhone and iPad is now available for download for devices running iOS 4.3 or later.
