  • Superb ultrabook that performs and looks good while doing it
Ankush Das (Mar 1, 2013) on Flipkart
Go about most internet reviews and you will find them mentioning this as not being an ultrabook. And it isn't by 7mm in width officially. But hey, its very slim and very light at just 1.4kg. If you are a student or a traveller who wants a light laptop and not lug around a piece of heavy machinery, this is the perfect thing to invest in. Gives you the best value for money on the market right now. PROS: - Price (you can't buy an ultrabook any cheaper than this, you get every bang for buck) - Touch screen (no matter how much I don't want to, I eventually end up using the screen and it is a pleasure using it) - Touchpad (very big and spacious touchpad which has some nice multi-touch gestures which feel good) - Brushed aluminium look (feels good and is quite a looker) - Thin and light (doesn't occupy much space and is very easy to carry in one hand, even the adapter is small and light) - Good amount of ports for an ultrabook (HDMI, VGA, 3xUSB, Ethernet, you name it) - Smooth performance on Windows 8 (hardly any lag) - Keyboard (spacious and nice chiclet keyboard) - Quick start (while other ultrabooks are told to start faster due to an SSD, this one boots up quite fast for my purposes with having one) CONS: - Display (it's glossy and I would have preferred matte but doesn't sting me much, colours are not as vivid but it has a brilliant resolution though) - Not for gaming (well if you are looking to play NFS:MW or something as hardcore, look away, this wasn't meant for that) - Power button (it just looks out of place, only if ASUS had put some extravagant flourish on it )) - Low capacity battery (that would have made this heavy but slightly higher capacity and would have been absolutely awesome) - Nothing more. I had to nitpick the cons. But other than that, this is a scorcher of a ultrabook, notebook or laptop or whatever you desire to call it. As a student, it serves my purpose beautifully by being light and the touch screen I feel is a superb value addition. Performance from the i3 processor is nice ensuring there's no lag. Windows Store games work brilliantly but graphics intensive games, not so much. I would just give it a 5 for being such an amazing value for money buy. You get everything for what you pay.

I was very reluctant to buy a notebook with a touch screen. But, this one is very good. i'm much impressed with the last one week performance. I'm a full time, computer user, for both office and home. This one is upto the mark, except for hard core games. very light weight and super fast book. metro ui is very nice to use with the touch screen. Bottomline: I recommend this product..

i am using this nice device since few days. Trust me, it performing above expectation. Wonderful look and build quality, smooth key function, big & sensitive touch, amazing multitasking, intuitive touch, super portability in this price tag. I am loving it. Only con i found the battery. It is average 2.5-3 hr backup but taking much time to get fully charged. But it is acceptable for the price tag. It is worth buy for students moving around faculty/class-home-hostel. Full entertainment device. Thanks to ASUS.

  • Nice notebook from Asus
Ravindera Nahar (Jan 1, 2014) on Flipkart
I am using this one for last 2 weeks. Its a very good notebook for everyday use. Pros: Very thin and portable. Strongly built Sound quality is good.Stereo effect is amazing Battery backup more than 3 hours, for surfing, music and MS office applications. It wakes from sleep mode in nearly 2~3 seconds. Its charger is too small, like that of cell phone, so very handy. Its a good buy at this price levels. Cons: on update of Windows from windows 8 to windows 8.1, touchpad features stopped working. On contacting, Asus customer care informed, the undate for the same feature is currently not available, but will be there in some time. Overall, very nice product.

  • Perfection Redefined
Shantanu Sinha (Jan 1, 2014) on Flipkart
It has been pointed out time and again that we are living in a world of smaller laptops and bigger smartphones. And I don?t really have anything to complain about if these devices increase my efficiency, keep me entertained and are portable enough to carry around everywhere. Unfortunately, for most people like me who like a full keyboard and a decent processor in a compact and sleek form factor, there aren?t many reasonably priced options out in the market. So I often end up asking ? why can?t anyone fit in mid-range specs with a good screen, acceptably portable form factor and a stylish packaging? And as if to answer that question, the Asus VivoBook F202E landed up on the Smartbuy test bench. Needless to say..!!!

  • Asus F202E-CT148H VivoBook (3rd Gen Ci3/ 4GB/ 500GB/ Win8/Touch)
Nishanth Nagavar (Apr 1, 2014) on Flipkart
The laptop was exactly what I was looking for except that it is not a 4th Gen i5. Wouldn't have minded paying a bit more for that. It suits my computing needs. Very good deal at 33K and at that size. No other model (in the 11.6" range) by any other company includes all these features at this price. It is light weight. All relevant ports (SVGA, HDMI, 2 x USB 2.0 and USB 3.0) have been integrated very well. Quite ultra-portable. Key Board is wide enough. Response time is good. The only thing missing is the back-lit key board. Asus could have included it even if it meant a marginal increase in price. Would give a 4.5 only on this count.

  • just Awesome. Bang for buck
Mainong Jenbum (Feb 1, 2014) on Flipkart
I just love the build quality. doesn't heat up. audio quality is great. performance is good if you are not using heavy cpu draining softwares(moviemaker, video converters etc). The keyboard is also awesome although you may get some typing mistakes at the start cz the keys are a little smaller compared to other laptops. touch screen is really pleasing. battery life is great. ONE IMPORTANT THING: The pre-installed os is windows 8 Single language. you may find some new updates about 800 mb. I tried installing the updates, it fails each time "Failed to update, reverting changes". May be the update is not compatible for this version of os.

  • Really good
Balanarayan NT (Mar 1, 2013) on Flipkart
I bought this for my wife and she is really happy with it. The touchscreen is good and responsive and it's quite easy to use it, all that theory about gorilla arms are plain wrong. I liked this model a lot as it's compact and only 11-inches while all the other slim devices such as ultrabooks have 13 or 15-inch screens. This is perfect for someone who has to carry a device around for work the whole day. The device is used mainly for word processing, browsing and for watching videos and there hasn't been any sort of performance issues. Battery life is excellent for a device this thin, but the fact that batteries aren't removable is a bit irritating. I haven't had to remove it till now but I'm dreading the day the battery dies (which hopefully won't happen anytime soon). Overall, it's a steal for this price and kudos to Asus for not over pricing it.

  • Decent entry level Core i3
Kanishka Khatri (Oct 1, 2013) on Flipkart
Received this lappie within 40 hours. Thanks a lot flipkart! Being an IT lecturer, I don't use this laptop for hardcore gaming purpose. That's why won't review much on that part. I have installed Adobe Indesign CC, Photoshop CS6, Photoshop Lightroom, Brigde, Dreamweaver CC, Edge Animate, QuarkXpress, Total Video Converter, MS Office 2013 and some open source softwares. All of them run smooth, no problem at all. I have even tried opening 4-5 softwares at a time, still smooth. Pre-installed Windows has an explorer.exe error just after the OS starts (no, that's not a virus, confirmed) but there has not been any issue while using. Trend Micro Internet Security program does a decent job + its registered for 1 year, nice job! As I have migrated from 15.6" (acer laptop) screen to 11.6", it took some time for me to get my hands on this keyboard, although I don't miss my previous keyboard much, well done asus! USB 3.0 and Bluetooth work like charm while transferring data. I haven't tested HDMI yet, will use it soon. VGA port serves industry standard, I had no issue connecting it to different projectors n screens. Audio port is good, connected my home theatre with it. MMC SD port is great, but I assumed my card to be completely inserted as in my previous laptop, but it remains partially out, again not an issue. LAN port is excellent, great space management technique applied. Webcam is okay-ish! Viewing youtube videos in HD with this piece are a treat to eyes. Asus Smart Gesture touchpad is impressive, quite innovative. Converting/Rendering videos don't consume much time (thanks to 3rd Gen i3). I have never had this fun of using Windows 8 touch apps before. Purchased this thing for 35,050 with 1yr extended warranty from e-techies and free Counter Strike dvd. Thanks again flipkart. Recommended for daily needs of travelers / students / professionals. Pros: 1. Build Quality 5/5 2. Audio Quality 4/5 (not much bass) 3. Screen Quality 3.5/5 (pretty glossy) 4. Touch Interface 5/5 (no lag at all) 5. Keyboard 4/5 6. Thickness & weight 5/5 (reason for purchasing this laptop) Cons: 1. Space key is noisy (slight whistling sound) 2. Started heating up a bit. Not much though! 3. Battery lasts for 3 n half hours. [3/5] 4. Viewing angles [2/5] In case you have any query before purchasing this product, let me know if I could provide any help.

Akhil Borkar (Jul 1, 2013) on Flipkart
I am writing this review from the laptop itself. The size of the laptop is awesome and its just featherlite. its easy to use Windows 8 with touch screen and that the fun in using the laptop. Sometimes you feel as if you working with the tab in your hand. The text visible on the screen is quite crisp and bright. Flipkart service was prompt and I received the product in less than 24 hours. overall, the product is good and go check other site before buying as you can get a better deal around.

i liked the product... it has stunning looks. reason for which i bought this product was portibility. its light weight and easy to handle. i found some issues related to heating and touchpad is too sensitive. its not even one month since i bought but it heats up quite quickly. one point i had doubt about this product is battery life, since its a 2 cell battery but i didn't found any such issues. all together its a fair deal to invest.

  • Good buy, but heats up fast when using on lap
Pratik Soni (Jan 1, 2014) on Flipkart
laptop configuration is really cool the material used and construction quality is awesome. The only drawback I see in this is that it gets really hot when used on bed or on your stomach.. As you know it is very light laptop and you can use it on ur stomach while sleeping :).. but since it heats up fast I'm not using it like that.

Works as it should..Good value for money..Touch screen is an added bonus and pretty responsive too...Games wont run,not even Fifa 13 decently....Good for browsing, programming and other light tasks though..Best part-Extremely portable, though not on the ultra-light side, this machine is sleek, small and can easily fit into a tiny backpack..Good for frequent travellers, design is excellent with the brushed aluminium finish giving it an eye-popping metallic lustre......If you are looking for something portable,good-looking and below the 35k mark,i would definitely recommend it...

  • Compact powerful travel friendly machine for light to mid-tech user
Pras Venk (Aug 1, 2014) on Flipkart
Highly recommend this budget-friendly and travel-friendly powerful laptop for light to mid-tech user. I use it mainly for word processing, browsing, some amount of CAD and GIS packages. Battery lasts for 4 hrs of continuous wifi internet usage, underside heats up a bit and win8 touch takes some getting used to, but other than that, I am fine with the system as it is. I can not comment on the graphics card or gaming as I am not a power-user. However, I do run GIS softwares which run smooth. Cons: Could have had built in backlit keys. Function keys are outdated and obsolete but other than that the keyboard seems spacious, though the fingers ache after 20-30 minutes of typing away. I hardly use the touchscreen but for the few times when I do use it, it adds to the Win8 experience. Overall, a good buy.

  • Nice to buy but touch screen is not of much use
Yogesh Prakash Patil (Apr 1, 2014) on Flipkart
Its nice, battery is around 3.5 hrs and easy to use. you can go for it. It comes with windows 8 which don't allow to install Linux easily because secure boot. Also they wont provide Windows 8 installation cd along with it. And the backup drive wont work if u delete boot loader by mistake or something. I deleted windows 8 and now running win 7 and Linux Mint. Touch screen works with win 7 and linux mint.

  • Review for US version X202E
Rahul (May 1, 2013) on Flipkart
The price was close to 24,000 when converted, so I don't know why Asus or our Indian government taxes is causing such a high price here for this low end device. Windows 8 is considered a failure in comparison with Windows 7 in so far the improvements are intrusive design changes and touch implementation that is rarely used in Windows native applications. Bing maps in metro mode does look magnificent, but who uses Bing anyway? The processor is on the slower end, but for 11 inch display you won't feel much lag unless you are using it for gaming. The Sonic Masters internal speakers are loud and clear and is really good for movies and music. Also to note is that Asus is not up to the mark in reliable hardware. Touch screen stopped working in just one month, but International guarantee ensured the screen was replaced. However they took one month to get it done. Overall my advice is don't buy this because you want Windows 8 or touch screen, buy it if you like the small and thin design and looks. Serious users who want sturdy computer for office or college - please avoid.

Pros: Lightweight, touch screen, with decent processing power and battery backup. Cons: In our case the HDD died in 2 years and needs to be replaced. Windows 8 and windows 8.1 are a pain in the a$$. Install Ubuntu 14.04, no hassles. Good for light work, not gaming perhaps.

  • Worst laptop purchase of my life - failed 4 times in 4 months - HDD/battery gone
Soubhagya Sahoo (Feb 1, 2015) on Flipkart
I?m having such a harrowing experience with this piece of junk you call a F202E Vivobook laptop. The ASUS laptop has again conked - when it was returned to me after repair of corrupt HDD and failing battery last time, the Windows was not activated - and it is still not activated. Even my paid MS Office 365 has now stopped working. And now the battery is also instantly failing whenever the power adaptor is removed (intentionally or by accident, since the adaptor is always loosely connected to the socket). Who is in charge of this poor make and build quality of ASUS laptops - I need to know the exact details so that I can sue ASUS for damages. I have bought over 20 laptops in my and my wife?s lifetime for personal and business use, and this is by far the worst experience ever. Never ever in the past have I seen a laptop create so much problem in such less a time - 2 times during warranty period and so many times after warranty period.
