Julie (Renate Reinsve) is an indecisive millennial fuelled by spontaneity, who is standing on the verge of bidding adieu to her 20s. She feels stuck, and behind her life’s expected schedule; while most women of her age find themselves settled in some way or the other – adding to Julie’s quarter-life crisis.
As a series of drastic choices leave her feeling further stuck, an otherwise free-spirited Julie has to confront the limitations of time, and that of herself.
The movie spans four years from her life and touches upon her multiple lovers, existential uncertainty, career dissatisfaction, and self-discovery.
Reinsve won the Best Actress award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival for her work.
