  • They may be priced at Rs. 4,799 if Rage 2 is any indication
  • Physical copies at local retail are vastly cheaper at Rs. 3,499
  • It is unknown if physical copies would work on Steam

Doom Eternal, Rage 2, Fallout 76, Wolfenstein Cyberpilot, and Wolfenstein Youngblood are coming to Steam as well as Bethesda's own launcher. Bethesda confirmed this in a tweet, stating Fallout 76 would be making to the popular PC game storefront "later this year". Doom Eternal is the sequel to 2016's critically and commercially acclaimed Doom while Rage 2 is a post-apocalyptic shooter that follows 2011's Rage, which was the last game industry legend John Carmack worked on before moving to Oculus. Wolfenstein Youngblood is the next entry in the Wolfenstein series that has you in the role of series protagonist BJ Blazkowicz's twin daughters. Wolfenstein Cyberpilot is a VR take on the franchise.

In Fallout 76's case, this wouldn't be the first time Bethesda has decided against a Steam release for its games only to change its mind. In the past, The Elder Scrolls Legends and Fallout Shelter weren't at Steam first. Instead they were available via Bethesda's own launcher and were put on Steam later.

The announcement comes at a time when the Epic Games Store has been in the news for grabbing exclusivity rights to a host of PC games to release on it rather than Steam. It's a strategy that's resulted in outrage from a vocal section of the PC gaming populace, many of whom take this announcement from Bethesda to suggest that its games would be skipping the Epic Games Store altogether.

That said, Bethesda's pricing for these games on Steam is ridiculous if Rage 2's Rs. 4,799 tag is any indication. This would make buying them on PC via retailers like Games The Shop the best option as they're priced at Rs. 3,499. However it is unknown if these variants would work on Steam or not.
