If you're the sort who likes sharing your gaming moments without having to resort to videos or live-streams that demand a really good Internet connection, chances are you're used to taking screenshots of your PC or PlayStation 4 games, or both.

Which is why it's all the more perplexing that the Xbox One launched with a video capturing feature only, forsaking any form of taking screenshots. Unless of course you count poorly taken pictures of your TV screen while gaming or images via a capture card that usually costs upwards of Rs. 10,000. It's something Microsoft is painfully aware of.

In a new video, the head of Microsoft's Xbox division, Phil Spencer states that the ability to take screenshots will come soon.

"Screenshots are coming early this year. I know it's been a question for quite awhile. We delivered themes. I think that a natural add-on to themes are screenshots. Giving people more ability to share their great gaming moments on the platform whether it's just as a screenshot as their background or through many of the different social networks that we allow people to share their content through is a long term commitment that we have," said Spencer.

While there is no set date for the feature, Spencer stated that there will be big news for the console as well as the company's efforts on PC and mobile that could be revealed at Microsoft's Windows 10 event on January 21. Spencer also touches upon some upcoming games. Check out the video below.
