BookMyShow's MyCoupons Offers Discount Vouchers on Meals Near Your Cinema

Ticketing portal BookMyShow has announced the launch of MyCoupons, a new feature that offers movie goers free discount vouchers that can be availed at restaurants and cafes situated close to the movie theatre.

The feature is currently live only on the website, and is available to users in Mumbai and Pune. MyCoupons lets users choose coupons from a host of restaurants after selecting seats for a movie.

BookMyShow said that it has partnered with over 100 eateries in these cities including Subway, Café Coffee Day, Baskin-Robbins, Mad Over Donuts, KFC, and Pizza Hut.

The company is offering discounts for these quick service restaurants on a variety of constructs, from a flat 20 percent off on the bill, to a buy one and get the next item for a discount, or at a low price, a spokesperson said, adding that around 140 partnerships are currently live on the platform.

The introduction of MyCoupons is an attempt by the company to increase its overall value proposition, said Marzdi Kalianiwala, Vice President - Business Intelligence and Marketing, BookMyShow, in an emailed statement. "Since we know where and when our customer consumes the content, we can ensure relevant offers are targeted to our users, thus making the overall experience highly contextual," he said. The feature will soon go live on its app, and will be rolled out to other cities, in the coming months, he added.

BookMyShow had announced its integration with Uber, which enables movie goers to book an Uber when they buy their tickets on its mobile apps.

Founded in 2007, Mumbai-based BookMyShow also provides bookings for plays, sports, and live events, and is operational in 350 Indian cities.
