Google has unveiled annual subscriptions for 100GB and 1TB cloud storage plans, offering a significant discount compared to monthly subscriptions.
Currently, Google Drive offers 100GB and 1TB storage options at Rs. 130 and Rs. 650 per month respectively. Google is offering up to 17 percent discount on both 100GB and 1TB storage subscriptions if bought as annual plans.
Under the new offer, users will have to pay to annually prepay Rs. 1,300 per year (or $19.99) for the 100GB option, and Rs. 6,500 per year ($99.99) for the 1TB option - which works out to up 17 percent discount compared to monthly subscriptions. Notably, the 100GB and 1TB storages are the basic storage options that Google offers on its Drive cloud storage service after users finish up their standard 15GB space.

The discount on 1TB storage option on the Google Drive brings down the prices competing straight with Dropbox Pro offer. Currently, Dropbox Pro users get 1TB storage for $99 per year.
Unfortunately, Google Drive isn't offering any discounts on 10TB, 20TB, and 30TB storage options. The storage options are listed to be available at Rs. 6,500 per month for 10TB, Rs. 13,000 per month for 20TB, and Rs. 19,500 per month for 30TB storage options.
Earlier this month, Google Drive received backups tab on Web and Android, giving users access to app and device backups. The update introduced a dedicated tab for Backups right on the home screen for users to tweak and delete backups of desired apps and devices when necessary.
