BlackBerry on Tuesday has started sending invites to an event in Dubai, London and Toronto on September 24, where it is expected to launch its unique square-shaped smartphone - the BlackBerry Passport.

Previously, BlackBerry's CEO John Chen had confirmed that the Passport will launch in September at an event in London. Last month, the Canadian manufacturer had even started taking pre-registrations for the square-shaped Passport smartphone. The dedicated pre-registration page is still live, and interested consumers can sign-up to get more details about the smartphone.

Although the design of the BlackBerry Passport is already official, the manufacturer had only revealed it to feature a 4.5-inch 1440x1440 pixel resolution display with a pixel density of 453ppi.
